New local business Elements for Life has received Gold in the Taste of the West Awards 2011. The company has won high praise for its Yummy Scrummy Raw Chocolate Brownie product in what is the first award they entered. Husband and wife team, Dan and Paula Knowlson, launched Yummy Scrummy in April this year and it has proved to be a local success with a growing number of stockists around their Wiltshire base. The awarding of Gold by Taste of the West is recognition of the high quality of the product and the couple can now build on their recent success.

The award winning raw chocolate brownie, registered with the Vegan Society, is free from refined sugar, wheat, dairy and gluten, making it ideal for people with dietary considerations such as vegans, coeliacs and lactose intolerance. Feedback from the Taste of the West judges included a fabulous taste, exactly what was expected from the description of the product and the ingredients, delicious.

When asked about their success, Paula said We were over the moon when we got the news of the Gold and had to read the email several times just to make sure. It is amazing to receive an award from such a highly regarded competition and its great to have such wonderful feedback from the judges for something we love doing.

As a result of winning the Gold award, Yummy Scrummy is now in the running for three further awards from Taste of the West, including Best New Product and Champion Product. The announcements for those will be made at an award ceremony to be held at the Eden Project in November.

Elements for Life raw chocolate products can be bought online from www.elementsforlife.co.uk and through a growing number of quality outlets across the region (details on their website at www.elementsforlife.co.uk/where-to-buy)
