Archant

Nothing makes a business stand out more than excellent customer service, no matter the size of the company. It could be a maitre d’, a hotelier or the person serving behind the cheese counter at the deli. If he or she always greets you with a smile and knows exactly what you want before you do, then these were the businesses we were looking for

The Somerset Life Food & Drink Awards are one of the biggest events in the local calendar and it is hugely anticipated by the region’s food and drink industry all year round.

We champion the best local producers, suppliers and businesses that are passionate about Somerset and the future of our local environment.

Thanks to both the nominations of the public and our well-respected judges, we have picked a winner worthy of the ‘Customer Service Award’, sponsored by Burns the Bread.

This year’s finalists are:

The Lion Rock Tea Rooms, Cheddar

The Lion Rock Tea Rooms are especially known for their Breakfast, Homemade Cream Teas and Afternoon Teas but they also host monthly themed Bistro evenings and serve an amazing Sunday Lunch

The Oakhouse, Axbridge

The small hotel in Axbridge with beautiful individually appointed rooms and an excellent 2 AA Rosette restaurant, serving delicious home cooked dishes.

And the winner is:

The Candlelight Inn, Bishopswood

The Candlelight Inn, a 17th Century pub is set in the picturesque village of Bishopswood in the heart of the Blackdown hills. With its original flint walls, wooden floors, intimate lighting and open fires, it has a very cosy and welcoming atmosphere.

The Customer Service Award is sponsored by Burns the Bread.
