The weekend is fast approaching and for those still deciding how to spend their Friday through to Sunday, we pick 5 of the best ways to spend your weekend in Somerset
From Wednesday March 29 to Sunday April 2, lovers of fashion can head to Cribbs Causeway, a short drive from Bristol’s city centre, with 17 catwalk fashions planned presented by TV stylist Mark Heyes and British fashion designer Henry Holland.
From Saturday March 25 to Saturday July 8, this major exhibition at the Museum of Somerset tells the story of the Camden Town Group and its work on the Blackdown Hills. The exhibition celebrates a very significant moment in the art of the West Country and includes works by Spencer Gore, Charles Ginner, Robert Bevan and Walter Sickert, which have been borrowed from a range of public and private collections.
Wine lovers in Somerset are invited to Rumwell Farm Shop’s first ever Wine Tasting Supper on Friday March 31 from 7pm. There’ll be seven wines to try at the event alongside breads, oils and olives, and followed with coq au vin and a selection of cheeses. Comedian Joel Dommett, fresh from his memorable performance on 2016’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!, brings his latest show to Westlands, Yeovil on Friday March 31. Tickets start at £11.50 or can be booked online.
Textile, art, ceramics, mixed media, enamels and more will be on show at an Emerging Group exhibition by 12 Good Women, plus three guest artists at Ilminster Arts Centre. The exhibition will be running from Monday March 27 to Saturday April 8.
