Welcome to Frame of Mind. We hope youll enjoy the distinctive experience that comes from shopping with us.

Join us in our Ilminster or Wellington stores, where youll be able to browse our selection of original gifts, cards, designer costume jewelleryand home-style products. And keep in touch with us via Facebook at www.facebook.com/atframeofmind for new arrivals, details of special offers - and the forthcoming launch of our new website.

A brief history

We opened the first Frame of Mind shop in June 1994, in the heart of Ilminster. To begin with, we offered picture framing in the back half of the shop, and sold gifts and cards in the front half. It was small, but perfectly formed, and we loved the challenge of establishing an independent store in themiddleofbeautiful South Somerset.

To be honest, the name of the shop was settled on after a few beers in the pub. With just a couple of months to go before our new store was due to open, we were struggling to find a name that reflected our approach to the business.

Frame of Mind hints at the unique attitude that we feel is our hallmark. Were passionate about keeping local high streets alive, and choose to shop with independent suppliers wherever possible. Its individual businesses that keep rural towns flourishing - and we hope that Frame of Mind makes a contribution to the vibrant atmosphere in Ilminster and Wellington.

We opened the Wellington shop in December 2005. The business had already expanded some time before that, when we moved the picture framing department to its own premises in Ilminster, in order to expand the product range offered in our main store.

So in addition to the Frame of Mind stores in Ilminster and Wellington, we also own and run Silver Street Gallery (www.silverstreetgallery.biz) in Ilminster. Its located in Silver Street (we didnt have to think so hard about the name for this shop). As well as picture-framing, we offer contemporary limited edition prints and original art from artists such as Sue Howells.

Our approach

We're proud of the fact that Frame of Mind remains an independent, family run, business. We're two brothers, and work closely with an energetic team of shop staff (thanks girls), to offer a personal service characterised by an awareness of current trends, individuality, creativity and enthusiasm. We are stockists for Emma Bridgewater Pottery, Konplott Jewellery, Rice, and Fatboy (allfrom the Netherlands- which you can find in the gallery. The Original is the friendliest, oversize beanbag you've ever seen), and much more.

Our customers get to enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and with the latest stylish products on sale we offer something a little different from the norm. The Frame of Mind shopping experience - no matter how big or small your purchase - can be enjoyed time and time again, as our stock changes frequently.

So come and share our Frame of Mind. With us, we think youll enjoy the best of times.
