With many questions likely to have been popped over the festive season and proposals joyously accepted, Bowood Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort (near Calne, Wiltshire) has set aside the date of Sunday 19th February for its next 'Wedding Inspiration Day'.

With many questions likely to have been popped over the festive season and proposals joyously accepted, Bowood Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort (near Calne, Wiltshire. www.bowood.org) has set aside the date of Sunday 19th February for its next Wedding Inspiration Day.

Designed to inspire those just embarking on the wedding planning process, the bridal open day will play out against an unbeatable backdrop for wedding celebrations as the resort is located in the western corner of Capability Browns 2,000 acre Grade I Listed Great Park at Bowood (home to the Lansdowne family since 1754). Visitors will be greeted with a glass of bubbly and canaps, leading them into the swing of things!

Those attending the event - from 11am to 4pm with free admission - will gain a flavour of why marrying at Bowood is such a superb idea. The Kerry Suite showcase will place the spotlight on sample set-ups for civil wedding ceremonies and celebrations - from a cocktail reception to a sit down dinner-dance. Bowoods team of wedding planners will be on hand to answer your questions with expert advice and suggestions as they reveal the best ways to steer around the potentially daunting task of wedding organisation. Menu suggestions from Bowoods Executive Chef, Chris Lee will be highlighted too alongside displays, samplings and top tips from various like-minded suppliers alongside whom Bowood works closely and regularly.

Any bride-to-be who then confirms her Bowood wedding booking while at the event will win complimentary spa membership for a three month period to help her prepare for her big day.

Bowoods pedigree spreads elegantly across The Kerry Suite - its specially dedicated space for wedding ceremonies, receptions and other private functions - with fabulous oil paintings on the walls, an enclosed garden and captivating views out across the surrounding parkland. Marriage ceremonies via civil wedding licence take place in the Fitzmaurice Room and Clanmaurice Room while varying sizes and styles of wedding celebration - entertaining up to 160 guests - can be accommodated.

We staged a similar Wedding Inspiration Day in November and there was a tremendous response with some 150 visitors attending and considerable interest generated, comments Mike Clitheroe, General Manager of Bowood Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort. Our February date certainly provides a well-timed opportunity for those who have just become engaged over the festive season - and perhaps on Valentines Day - and are now looking forward to having their wedding dreams come true.

Those considering Bowood for their wedding celebrations will be encouraged to do so not just by the warm welcome and wealth of ideas and advice they receive at the Wedding Inspiration Day on Sunday 19th February but also by appreciating that Bowood is just one of three hotels to have recently been announced a winner under the Large Hotel of the Year category of this years South West Tourism Excellence Awards. Among 45 winners named, across 15 individual categories, Bowood Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort is the only one from Wiltshire and Bowood was named the Bronze winner at the awards.

Further updates ahead of the Wedding Inspiration Day on 19th February can be obtained by emailing wedding@bowood.org. For further enquiries and reservations, call Bowood Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort on Tel: 01249 822228.
