Street is a perfect mix of traditional shops, reliable multiples and wonderfully stocked charity shops. And the icing on the Christmas cake has to be the outlet shops of Clark's Shopping Village. All the big names are there including Next, Marks & Spencer, Monsoon and Sony, and - for one month only - Santa will be taking pride of place in his magical grotto, open most days of the week until Christmas Eve. The main thoroughfare of Street itself is doing its bit to generate the festive atmosphere with its display of Christmas lights already twinkling. The Chamber of Trade Manager Philip Eavis is certain that shoppers visiting the town over the festive period will find what they are looking for and more besides, saying, "As well as the famous shopping village, Street itself has a lovely mix of modern and traditional shops, and traders are really planning to go out of their way to ensure that a Christmas shopping trip to Street will meet all your needs!"
