PUXTON Park near Weston-super-Mare is to hold its first lambing weekend of 2013 as part of its educational experiences.

The family-run family attraction, in Hewish, stages regular educational days to aid the learning of children across the South West.

Last year the park was overwhelmed with the sheer volume of lambs born at the park and it is looking forward to another bumper year.

Children can attend the first lambing weekend of the year from January 19th-20th, where they can get up close and personal by bottle feeding the lambs.

The experience days will also see farmer Mark Slade offer various talks about the lambs detailing how they are cared for at Puxton Park.

Puxton Managing Director Alistair Mead said: Last year was a fantastic year with a record number of lambs born here at the farm.

We like allowing youngsters to get up close and personal to these lambs by staging special lambing weekends, which are always a huge success.

This will be our first lambing weekend of 2013 and we are sure youngsters will want to come and learn all about these wonderful animals.

Set in the beautiful Somerset countryside the 70-acre family park is one of the largest and most popular visitor attractions in the region.

It offers a range of attractions including a pet village, farm animals, indoor three-storey play barn, falconry centre, giant castle, maze, adventure course, boating lake, and JCB sand pit.

New for this year will be the addition of a garden centre boasting home grown plants and shrubs, which is expected to open by the spring.

The adventure park in Hewish will also be launching Baby Disco classes on Wednesdays from January 16, a weekly class from 1-1.45pm for children aged two to four-years and their parent or carer.

In addition Puxton is launching Zumbatomic, a childrens only 45-minute class for youngsters aged four-12-years, running every Thursday from January 17, from 4pm until 4.45pm.
