FIG HOUSE...A new home...a new identity.

When we set up our first specialist dementia care service in 2001 our aim was to provide good quality care and achieve an improved quality of life for all residents, whilst retaining as much of their independence as was practically possible.

When we set up our first specialist dementia care service in 2001 our aim was to provide good quality care and achieve an improved quality of life for all residents, whilst retaining as much of their independence as was practically possible.

We also recognised from the beginning the need for a specialist environment, we do not mix care categories. This protects personal dignity which is one of our core principles.

The opening of Fig House in 2012, our third local service is testament to those early principles.

Consequently we have taken the opportunity to bring all three homes together to form

Fig Tree Dementia Care.

We offer Nursing, Residential, Respite and Day care within our home environments where independence is promoted and everyone can enjoy the activities of daily living, a key ingredient in our recipe.

All our homes have secure, resident accessible gardens which is essential for the relief of frustration.

All food is cooked from scratch using fresh produce which we source locally where possible.

We have learnt to understand the difficulty that many families face when considering the future care of a loved one, often moving them from their own home, possibly in crisis into a care setting. We appreciate that the concept of dementia care is often difficult to accept. Unlike many non- specialist homes, we understand the illness, manage the condition and ensure a minimal medication regime.

Our management team and experienced staff are on hand to offer the help, guidance, reassurance and advice you will need to make the best decisions minimising the impact of any move.
