Local environmental consultant and trainer Barry Croft is celebrating the launch of his new website. Maybe not earth shattering news, but when you consider that 8 weeks ago he didnt know the first thing about building websites, it puts it into perspective.
Barry has been running Green Brain since 2006, offering help with environmental permits, contaminated land, site waste management and training predominantly to Somerset and Devon organisations. He wanted a presence on the internet, but wanted to be able to edit and control it himself and not go through a web designer. So he signed onto a 6 week web design course with Somerset Skills & Learning in Taunton and discovered how to build one himself.
Duncan McGregor, the tutor for the web design course, told us Barrys website is probably the best web site I have seen from a learner after such a short 6 week course. He completed most of it during the sessions. It shows what somebody with a plan can achieve.
Barrys website, found at www.greenbrainassociates.com, has a very clear layout. It details what services are on offer, news updates, testimonials from happy customers and a very useful page of links to other websites and contact details.
Barry told us The course was a model of clarity and it really took very little effort to create my website, just a bit of homework time to get the content I wanted into the form required. Now the work should roll in! And when I outgrow it and need website v2 I know who to come to...
