On Friday 21st January, St Margaret's hosted their first IAPS Regional Swimming Heat. The school also competed in the competition which included other schools from the region – Monkton Combe, Paragon and Rosehill Westonbirt.

St Margarets Hosts IAPS Regional Swimming Heats


On Friday 21st January, St Margarets hosted their first IAPS Regional Swimming Heat. The school also competed in the competition which included other schools from the region Monkton Combe, Paragon and Rosehill Westonbirt.


The heats were split into boy and girl categories and there were 4 age groups competing U10, U11, U12 and U13.


The standard of swimming was excellent, the atmosphere was buzzing and all the races were keenly supported by parents and children alike. It was an action packed afternoon with individual races in four strokes per age group, followed by relays.


A total of 200 schools have entered the IAPS competition on a national level the top 12 relay teams in each age group go through to the finals and the top 16 individual children within each event will be put through to national finals which are being held in Sussex during May.


Everyone will now have to wait anxiously for the results whilst the other regional heats take place. Congratulations to everyone who took part and a big thank you to the staff at St Margarets and all the parents for their support.
