West Bradley based cidermaker Orchard Pig has been awarded a Silver in the very first International Cider Challenge, run by Drinks International magazine.

The competition attracted over a hundred entries globally and a total of only five Golds and seven Silvers were awarded.

Drinks International recruited a panel of distinguished and knowledgeable judges who blind tasted each entry. Chairman of the judges Christian Davis said We had cider from all over the world, including the Czech Republic, US, South Africa and Canada. We were really pleased to have such a good response especially from an international perspective.

Andrew Quinlan from Orchard Pig said We are absolutely delighted to win this award, especially against such strong international competition. The judging panel consisted of very respected names in the industry and Orchard Pig is thrilled to have been recognised for the quality of its cider. We look forward to taking part in the competition again next year.
