Best Newcomer of the Year

Best Newcomer of the Year

Archant

This category was open to anyone in the food or drink business who had started a new venture in the past couple of years. We wanted to know about the positive impact they have made on their local community and whether they have achieved success further afield

The Somerset Life Food & Drink Awards are one of the biggest events in the local calendar and it is hugely anticipated by the region’s food and drink industry all year round.

We champion the best local producers, suppliers and businesses that are passionate about Somerset and the future of our local environment.

Thanks to both the nominations of the public and our well-respected judges, we have picked a winner worthy of the ‘Newcomer of the Year’ Award, sponsored by Strongvox.

This year’s finalists are:

Bread Bar

Operating from a mobile catering van The Bread Bar offer great, simple fresh pizzas using the best local ingredients cooked in wood fired pizza ovens.

Moat & Turret Café, Nunney

The Moat & Turret café by the castle, is a dog-friendly great place to enjoy a hot or cold drink, a slice of homemade cake or a bite to eat.

And the winner is:

The Pier Restaurant, Clevedon

The Pier Restaurant is a seafood lovers’ paradise and a unique glass restaurant enjoying uninterrupted views down Britain’s only Grade 1 listed Pier.

The ‘Newcomer of the Year’ Award is sponsored by Strongvox.
