Somerset is home to some of the most celebrated chefs in the country. This award aims to recognise those who show an exceptional awareness of produce and have the knowledge and expertise to use their ingredients to create sensational, seasonal menus using local produce wherever possible

The Somerset Life Food & Drink Awards are one of the biggest events in the local calendar and it is hugely anticipated by the region’s food and drink industry all year round.

We champion the best local producers, suppliers and businesses that are passionate about Somerset and the future of our local environment.

Thanks to both the nominations of the public and our well-respected judges, we have picked a winner worthy of the ‘Best Chef of the Year’, sponsored by Thatchers Cider.

This year’s finalists are:

Justin Reeves, Head Chef and owner of Reeves Restaurant in Dunster

Steve James, Caterer and Personal Chef based in Somerset

And the winner is...

Olivier Certain, Head Chef at Clavelshay Barn near North Petherton

The Best Chef of the Year is sponsored by Thatchers Cider.
