Hidden in the Somerset Levels, The Duck at Burtle is loved by its locals and also those lucky enough to stumble across it. Winner of the 'Family Dining Award' at the Somerset Life Food & Drink Awards 2017 and finalist for the same award in 2018, we're big fans of their warm, welcoming service and their delicious, homemade dishes.

If you're toying with the idea of enjoying lunch out on Christmas Day, be persuaded by The Duck at Burtle's Christmas Day lunch offering. They will be announcing their menu shortly. Be quick - they're already nearly full booked!

Soak in the stunning scenery and embrace the surroundings this Christmas with an exquisite five course menu, full of contemporary twists and traditional treats that are sure to satisfy your festive cravings. For those after a luxurious break away, the Mount Somerset Hotel also offers accommodation and events over the Christmas period.

Hare & Hounds, near Bath

The Hare & Hounds is one of our favourite places to enjoy dinner al fresco, and a drink with a view, but it's also a wonderfully cosy spot for escaping the cold, winter weather with family and friends.

For those who don't fancy spending their Christmas Day morning slaving at the stove, the Hare & Hounds is serving up a festive feast without you lifting a finger. Starters include hot smoked mackerel pate and spiced chickpea and sweetcorn fritters, while mains include traditional roast turkey as well as braised feather-blade beef with creamy mashed potato. Make sure to leave room for Christmas pudding, cheese and biscuits and a warm mince pie -yum!

White Hart, Somerton

In the charming market town of Somerton you'll find The White Hart, a 16th century pub with rooms that boasts enviable, modern interiors following renovations a few years back. The pub is transformed in the run up to Christmas, with beautiful decorations and festive touches on display in the dining room.

The White Hart will be announcing its Christmas Day menu shortly. While you wait the Christmas party menu is available to peruse here. We love the sound of the spiced belly of Gloucester Old Spot with mashed potato and the White Hart Christmas pudding, salted caramel sauce and brandy and raisin ice cream to follow.

Ston Easton Park Hotel, near Bath

For those who fancy spoiling themselves this festive season, Ston Easton Park Hotel, and its surrounding 36 acres of beautiful parkland, offers a luxurious Christmas break away to truly treat yourself and loved ones.

Offering two or three night packages over the festive period, your stay will involve plenty of delicious food and drink, festive fun and, perhaps best of all, none of the hard work of hosting Christmas at home.

Sitting in the city's historic Market Place, The Crown at Wells is a 15th century inn with plenty of history, and, bags of charm and character. The pub also had a starring role in Edgar Wright's action-packed cop comedy movie Hot Fuzz.

Starters include pan fried scallops served with black pudding, pea puree and crispy pancetta before mains of roasted breast of Somerset turkey crown with all the trimmings or individual fillet of beef wellington with Dauphinoise potatoes and red wine jus, plus many more to choose. To finish, enjoy traditional Christmas pudding or a plate of local cheeses.

The New Mill, Bathpool near Taunton

Based in the hamlet of Bathpool, the charming pub boasts a cosy, inviting dΓ©cor with brick interior walls and warming log fires perfect for a special Christmas celebration with loved ones.

Begin with honey-roasted pear and Parma ham or duo of pate, among many other starters, hand-carved turkey breast with lemon & thyme stuffing, a Cumberland and red onion pig in blanket, roast potatoes and vegetables for main and indulge in a Christmas pudding or hazelnut crème brûlée for dessert.

The Swan, Wedmore

One of our favourite places for al fresco dinner and drinks, The Swan in Wedmore is just as wonderful inside when the weather takes a turn. The delightful gastro-style pub offers seven light and modern bedrooms as well as a menu of River Cottage inspired dishes: think simple dishes carefully curated and cooked to perfection.

For those who can't think of anything worse then hosting the festivities, The Swan will be serving a delicious feast on Christmas Day. The menu will be announced soon.
