Mount Somerset Hotel, Taunton

Hidden in the Somerset Levels, The Duck at Burtle is loved by its locals but also those lucky enough to stumble across it. Winner of the ‘Family Dining Award’ at the Somerset Life Food & Drink Awards 2017 and nominated for the same award this year, we’re big fans of their warm, welcoming service and their delicious, homemade dishes.

The Hare & Hounds is one of our favourite places to enjoy dinner al fresco, and a drink with a view, but it’s also a wonderfully cosy spot for escaping the cold, winter weather with family and friends.
For those who don’t fancy spending their Christmas Day morning slaving at the stove, the Hare & Hounds is serving up a festive feast without you lifting a finger. Starters include pan fried scallops and a winter salad with Bath blue cheese, while mains include traditional roast turkey as well as roast duck breast with a spiced honey glaze. Make sure to leave room for Christmas pudding, cheese and biscuits and a warm mince pie –yum!

Based in the hamlet of Bathpool, the charming pub boasts a cosy, inviting décor with brick interior walls and warming log fires perfect for a special Christmas celebration with loved ones.
