January is all about rejuvenating after a hectic festive season. Alexandra Hurley thinks everyone should resolve to make more time for personal well-being
Catherine Brown from The Lavender Rooms, at Hestercombe near Taunton, shares her top tips for winter skin and the perfect night in:
• With the cold weather setting in outside and the heating being turned up inside, most of us suffer from dehydration on our skin so this is the perfect time to introduce a serum. Try AromaWorks Rejuvenate Face Serum Oil, £45, ideal for dry and mature skin types.
• Dry skin and dehydration is always a problem in the winter months so exfoliating regularly will help keep your skin looking bright and polished. AromaWorks Nourish Exfoliate Mask, £30, can be used once or twice a week. Use your exfoliator in the morning to give your skin a healthy glow throughout the day.
• It is important to moisturise your skin after exfoliating, and I recommend using separate moisturisers for day and night to get the best benefits from them. AromaWorks Nourish Day Cream, £48, and Nourish Night Cream, £54, are suitable for all skin types.
• A lot of us are guilty of neglecting the rest of our body, so why not use the winter months for some serious pampering. Light an AromaWorks candle, from £15, drop an AromaBomb, £12.50, into a warm bath and exfoliate using AromWorks Body Brilliance, £39. After a long soak apply AromaWorks Body Finish Cream, £39, which contains Neroli and Chamomile.
