Somerset Life asks Greenslade Taylor Hunt what's hot on the property market this month

Taunton, the county town, is due to explode with new housing developments over the next 20 years. The attraction of villages within easy reach, particularly those teaming with character property, is bound to increase tremendously and Combe Florey, tucked away and near the Quantock Hills, is destined to be one of them. Centred around a superb sand stone church as well as a dominant gatehouse to Combe Florey House (former home of Auberon Waugh), the village is reminiscent of a former era with little or no traffic and a street scene straight out of Jane Austin. Taunton is 15 minutes by car and the Quantocks, with all their walks and bridleways only five minutes. Hillhay (pictured) in Combe Florey, currently presents a good purchase opportunity.
