CASABLANCA: THE GIN JOINT CUT

CASABLANCA: THE GIN JOINT CUT

In the 70th anniversary of one of the most loved classic films of all time, Casablanca: The Gin Joint Cut presented by Gilded Balloon Productions at the Tobacco Factory

Direct from the Edinburgh Fringe, in the 70th anniversary of one of the most loved classic films of all time, Casablanca: The Gin Joint Cut will be at the Tobacco Factory Theatre from Mon 17 Sat 22 September. A lovingly disrespectful homage to the film, watch as this superb multi-tasking cast whisk you back to Morocco 1941.

This fast-paced, action packed comedy, written and directed by award-winning director Morag Fullarton is a cleverly constructed tribute to the film. It stars the comic actor, Gavin Mitchell impersonating Humphrey Bogart playing Rick Blaine, alongside the amazing cast of Clare Waugh and Jimmy Chisholm. With a wonderful, yet simple set design by the award-winning Kenny Miller.

Casablanca has some of the most iconic scenes and best lines ever written, so why not play it again? But this time in a tiny gin joint, with three actors. Morag Fullartons fast paced distillation will have you raise a Bogart-style eyebrow, shed a Bergman-like tear and drown out the Nazis with a rousing chorus of the Marseillaise.

The show has received 5 star reviews for the plays premiere at Glasgows ran Mr in 2010 as part of a Play, a Pie & a Pint series, which is particularly significant for the Tobacco Factory Theatre, in the season where they are working with ran Mr to bring a Play, a Pie and a Pint to Bristol. Casablanca: The Gin Joint Cut has also received 5 star reviews for its runs at the Tron Theatre and Edinburgh Fringe in 2011 and 2012.

On tour throughout the UK from September, for further details go to www.gildedballoon.co.uk
