Whitehole Springs

Whitehole Springs

Mineral water is not usually something to get excited about: still or sparkling just about sums it up.

Sip a glass of Whitehole Springs, however, and I am convinced that your imagination will kindle up a quiet corner of the Mendip Hills, tumbling with wild flowers and gorgeous views.

The water, called Tufa Pure, has a colourful history. The land through which it bubbles up used to belong to the Horner family (as in Jack Horner), and has long been known to hippies for its ‘magical’ qualities. It is very high in natural calcium, but low in sodium. Look out for it in smart restaurants and fine food shops.
