Ilminster Arts Centre launched its first ever creative photography open exhibition showcasing the work of 46 photographers. There were 133 photographic pieces, which were judged by well-known Somerset photographer Philip Tonkyn.

Thanks to the sponsorship of Lentells Chartered Accountants (Chard) a prize of £500 was up for grabs, awarded to the overall winner, which was announced at the preview as Ian Lynes for his piece Familia.

A Visitors Choice Award of £100 (divided into two prizes of £50) was generously sponsored by Bilbys Coffee Shop (Ilminster and Crewkerne) and will be given to the two favourite pieces of work as voted for by visitors. As part of their prize, all three winners will be giving a joint exhibition at Ilminster Arts Centre during December 2013.
