There’s plenty to keep little ones entertained in Somerset this February half term. We pick 10 family-friendly events you’ll want to try during the school holidays

Visit Bishop Palace & Gardens for a fun family craft day making all things space-related.
When: February 2-24
How much? £5 for adults and £2.50 for children
During February, seize the opportunity to admire the swathe of snowdrops that carpet the 30 acres of gardens at Forde Abbey. At 11am on February 16 and 17, visitors can join head gardener Joshua Sparkes on a spring-inspired ramble, with a hot drink and slice of cake at the end (additional costs apply).
Heated swimming sessions at Portishead Open Air Pool
When: 11am-4pm on February 16, 17 and 24, 12-4pm on February 23 and 24 and 1-7pm on February 20
How much? £5.92 (tickets must be booked in advance)
Following the success of their Christmas and New Year heated swimming sessions, Portishead Open Air Pool will once open, with the pool heated up to 29C, for those fancying a dip during the half-term holidays.
Half term at The Museum of Somerset, Taunton
When: February 16-23
How much? Admission is free with activities separately ticketed
The Museum of Somerset is hosting a number of activities during the school holidays including the eagerly awaited Castle Day on Sunday, February 17. The whole family are invited to take part in crafts, dressing up, trails and games.
Muddy Boots Wild Art Trail at Hestercombe House & Gardens

Hunt for berries, leaves, moss and more to make up your own natural art box at Hestercombe House & Gardens. Make sure to bring your wellies - you’re bound to get muddy during this activity!
February half-term at Wookey Hole Caves

Opening up throughout the week during the February half term, there’s entertainment a-plenty to enjoy at Wookey Hole Caves. As well as the jaw-dropping caves and tunnels to admire, visitors can visit a number of museums, meet the Witch of Wookey Hole and amuse themselves in the arcades.

Puxton Park have organised a jam-packed week of activities during the February half term. Expect a fancy dress disco with Disco Steve’s Little Disco Company, a Valentine’s themed craft day, family entertainers Nutty Noah and Adam Allsortz will pay a visit and an animal meet and greet. All the activities are alongside all the attractions Puxton Park are known and loved for.
Togas and Tunics in February half term at Roman Baths

Back by popular demand, visitors can try out their investigative skills during Bristol Zoo’s Zoo Detectives. Crack the clues and uncover the mystery of the missing crickets.
