Could you take on the walking challenge in support of Wellington Monument?

The National Trust is launching the Monumental Trek and asking people to take part in a challenge to raise vital funds to help repair Wellington Monument. So far it’s raised £2.6 million towards the £3.8 million required.

On Saturday May 11, walkers can set off on either a 10k or 20k walk across the Quantocks and Blackdown Hills. These two designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty are looked after by the trust and will provide incredible views and scenery for the walkers.

There will be a registration fee for the walk and a minimum fundraising target of £100 for the 10k and £200 for the 20k. All money raised will go towards the Wellington Monument appeal. There are only 300 places on the Monumental Trek, so people are being asked to apply as quickly as possible to ensure they get a place.

If you’re up for the challenge, sign up at nationaltrust.org.uk/wellington-monument.
