A group of nurses from Musgrove Park Hospital, led by Hayley Tidball and Annette Vickery, organised a Jail Break from Shepton Mallet Prison - with no money the plan was to get as far away from the prison as possible, by walking, hitching, cadging lifts from buses and trains. The girls did fantastically well, getting to Wales and raising the grand total of 1,014 to help local people affected by brain injury, and for theirtheir families and carers who are supported by the charity Headway Somerset.

Last week the girls handed over the sponsorship money raised to Headways Fundraising Manager Alison Mills at the hospital.

This has been one of the most novel ways that people have raised money for us commented Alison. The girls did so well to get as far as Wales and the money raised will help fund the services we provide through our three Brain Injury Outreach Units in Somerset.
