This winter the whole of Somerset are invited to take up their needles for a series of beginners knitting classes at a garden centre in the county.
Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre at Monkton Heathfield near Taunton is hosting beginners knitting classes taking place every Friday from 9th November until 14th December.
Miranda McPherson, Craft Centre Supervisor, explained: The beginners knit club sessions are part of a step-by-step course designed to teach the basic techniques to those with no previous experience.
Sally Stephens is hosting the weekly classes where she will be helping people learn about this wonderful craft. We are delighted that she will be able to share her 47 years of experience and knowledge of the art with visitors.
Its a great opportunity for people to learn the basics of knitting and knit with others but also to get inspiration for exciting future projects.
The specialist Craft Centre, which stocks everything from card-making kits to wool, was created to serve the needs of the areas crafters. It has a programme of weekly and monthly workshops and regular demonstrations.
The beginners knit club will take place on Friday, November 9, 16, 23, 30 and Friday, December 7 and 14 from 2pm until 4.30pm. The classes cost 13 per class per person or two classes for 20.
