The unit's Head of Private Patient Services, Hannah Pitman, explains how the Kingston Wing can help you get back to the lifestyle you enjoy, swiftly and safely.

You can self-refer to the Kingston Wing's services

You can contact the Kingston Wing without the need for a GP referral, saving both you and your GP time. For procedures such as hip and knee replacements, and cataract surgery, you can arrange your care directly with the team and they will keep your GP up-to-date on your behalf. "For procedures which require a GP referral we're here to help you every step of the way." said Hannah. "We'll be on hand to organise everything from your initial consultation through to your surgery on a date that suits you. We can also arrange your aftercare and any support you need to help your recovery."

You can self-pay for your private care

You don't need to have private health insurance to benefit from the Kingston Wing's exceptional services. As a self-paying patient you'll have access to the unit's expert consultants who offer a range of procedures and services, including: hip and knee replacements and other orthopaedic procedures, cataract surgery, hernia repair, gall bladder removal, breast augmentation and reduction, gynaecology, dermatology, vein treatments, dietetics and more.

"We have a range of upfront, competitive, fixed-priced packages meaning you'll know how much you'll be paying before you start your treatment and won't need to worry about what the bill will be at the end of your stay," said Hannah. "We also work with all major private health insurers to offer patients with policies access to the care they need".

Recuperate in the Kingston Wing's private en suite rooms

The Kingston Wing's newly re-decorated, single rooms all have en suite facilities and come with free Wi-Fi, Freeview and a private landline telephone, providing you with a quiet, private environment in which to rest and recover. You'll also enjoy access to free parking and locally-sourced high quality food prepared by the Kingston Wing's dedicated team. The rooms are all named after local and regional landmarks, reinforcing the unit's close relationship with the counties of Somerset and Dorset.

Enjoy peace of mind

"Patients visiting the Kingston Wing will benefit from the latest techniques, treatments and expertise," said Hannah. "You can rest assured you're in the right place to get the treatment you need and that you'll have consultant-led care throughout.

"What makes the Kingston Wing particularly special is that we are located within a NHS hospital; so, if needed, you have immediate access to the full range of urgent services provided by Yeovil Hospital. What's more, all profits are reinvested back into the NHS.

"Patient feedback on the wing is excellent with 95 per cent of our patients saying they would recommend us to friends or family if they needed similar care or treatment."
